This award was established in 2002. It selected 72 students who were about to graduate high school and 108 awardees from the general public. I was recommended by the principal of the high school due to the gold medal from the International Chemistry Olympiad and the student president that I assumed in 2001.
The ceremony was very honorable moment because all of my family members were invited to the dinner at Blue House (the Presidential Residence of the Republic of Korea). Unfortuantely I lost the picture taken at the moment, so I attached the picture of the medal I was awarded.
