Framework

This research is basically part of larger project which develop new product & business proposal in DSC industry. The purpose of this research was to analyze platform & product strategies of company (Samsung Techwin) and competitors (Canon, Sony, Kodak).

The scope of this research in the whole project is highlighted in yellow below on the left. The subframe of analyzing each company is shown below on the right.

Company & Competitor Analysis

For analyzing company’s future product line-up and platform strategy, all-inclusive data analysis was conducted from numerical performance to value proposition of each company. Now that I undertook analyzing Sony, the illustration below is related to Sony’s DSC line-up. Now that DSC line-up analysis is the main part of these tasks, it is presented in detail in the next page seperately.

Core part of competitor analysis was analyzing product line-up of the company. Based on DSC line-up roadmap shown on the upper-right corner in the previous page, further analysis was conducted, which included segmentation strategy, service & partnership, technology development and market development.
