According to Professor Morten Hansen, there are four types of barriers in organization which hinder collaboration within or across the organization. Two of them are search and transfer problems. In Spring 2009, I wrote a paper about mitigating these problems using network analytic approach. Given the collaboration network of a large electronics company, I optimized the network and drew general managerial implications in designing collaboration networks.
